“that rosy glow”

Meandering in the J. C. Raulston Arboretum, in Raleigh, NC, is always a rewarding excuse to either faithfully capture a glimpse of nature, or to just play with it. These stamen filaments always strike me as fleshy energy.

Bedraggled, Bejeweled, Beautiful !

Another “after the rains” photo. A cool breeze had this blossom gently bobbing, so I had to choose my moments of stillness, while the sun had not cleared the house and trees, yet. Already it’s golden influence held promise of warm comfort.

My first bloom, this year celebrated the departure of tornadic activity in my area, earlier this week. This rendition of its portrait was enhanced in Lightroom 5.4, to give it the stormy blues, and in Perfect Effects 8 to bring some added detail and warmth, selectively. (The water drops are totally naturally occuring; none were added by the photographer, this time.)
