Shadow Cat

Shadow Cat – my cat, Chai, kindly leaves me his sheddings on my bed, most afternoons, where I can collect them with a sticky roller. Isn’t that nice of him?
I took all the color out of the original and used the “split-tone” function in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.3, to get this warm tone.

There has, indeed, been some processing to give the new bud the stage: overall tweaking of tonalities as well as localized adjustments in Adobe Lightroom 4.3, to give a hint of selective focus, a la “tiltshift” effect. Also, mild vignetting, and localized color balance tweaking and tonal treatments were applied to each end of this long horizontal “dual monitor desktop” cropping.

Hellebore – Bud in Bokeh

Pulled from a shot I made several months back, now. It’s an image I wouldn’t have picked or noticed so much, without some recent workshop experience and some time away from the shoot.. all providing freshness to my way of seeing it. I found it perfect for the #Macro Monday subtheme Bokeh, as well. And, hey, it fits #Floral Friday, (on G+) as well, no?
